The new snow can be released easily, or, in isolated cases, naturally. The fresh wind slabs of the last two days can be released by a single winter sport participant. Avalanches can in some cases reach medium size. Avalanche prone locations are to be found in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. In high Alpine regions the avalanche prone locations are more prevalent. In very isolated cases weak layers exist in the old snowpack in particular on shady slopes. This applies on very steep slopes above approximately 2200 m. These avalanche prone locations are covered with new snow and are difficult to recognise.

5 to 10 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, will fall on Friday. The fresh snow as well as the wind slabs can be released easily, or, in isolated cases naturally. In some places new snow is lying on soft layers. In very isolated cases weak layers exist in the old snowpack in particular on shady slopes. This applies on very steep slopes above approximately 2200 m. Below the tree line only a little snow is lying.

Further increase in avalanche danger as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation. On Saturday the likelihood of slab avalanches being released will increase significantly. Numerous loose snow avalanches are possible as the day progresses.
