Forecast Snow Stability: Localised areas of moderately bonded windslab will continue to build on North through East to South aspects above 650 metres. These windslab instabilities will gain depth and extent, mainly affecting steeper wind sheltered terrain, such as coire rims, ridge flanks, gullies and scarp slopes. Cornices will continue to grow, becoming fragile. Wind exposed aspects will be generally more scoured. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
Forecast Weather Influences: There will be fresh to moderate West-North-Westerly winds. Frequent snow showers are expected, falling as moderate amounts of snow to all levels in Torridon, with heavier showers expected further inland. The freezing level will remain low. Observed Weather Influences: Winds have been strong North-North-West, with occasional snow showers and some short bright periods this morning. The freezing level was around 100 metres. ObservedSnowStability: There is little snow below 500 metres with better cover above 600 metres. Localised areas of moderately bonded windslab have developed on steep wind sheltered terrain, mainly on North-East through East to South aspects above 650 metres. There are cornices building on the same aspects. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
