At the highest elevations skiers and riders who venture onto very steep terrain features could trigger small sloughs involving the new snow and may have some potential to trigger isolated pockets of older wind slab up to 18 inches in depth. At the lower elevations areas of unstable wet snow may develop on very steep slopes after snow surfaces soften. Evaluate terrain and snow conditions carefully. With the current stress on our health care community its worth being extra cautious.

Periods of light to moderate snowfall will be possible overnight before skies begin to clear Sunday morning. Overnight lows in the mountains will be in the upper teens before rising to near freezing in the afternoon. Westerly ridgetop winds will range from 5 to 15 miles per hour.The general avalanche hazard is expected to be Low on Sunday. On very steep slopes in the Tetons, skiers and riders could trigger new isolated pockets of shallow soft slab along with loose snow sloughs. As the day warms and skies clear, the chance for small wet slides will develop. The snowpacks in the Togwotee Pass and Southwest Trails areas are expected to be mostly stable in the morning before the possibility of small wet slides returns with daytime warming and sunshine. With the current stress on our health care community, an extra margin of safety is warranted.
