Avalanche danger is low. Isolated triggerings are possible by large additional loading on extremely steep slopes. Apart from the danger of being buried in snow masses, the risks of being swept along and forced to take a fall require adequate caution. Small, fresh snowdrifts require caution in high altitude ridgeline terrain. During daytime hours, avalanche danger levels increase slightly, esp. on sun-basked steep slopes, small, wet avalanches are possible. Small, in zones where snowfall has been heavier isolated medium-sized avalanches are still possible.

The snowpack is thoroughly wet up to high altitudes and following good nocturnal outgoing longwave radiation is usually capable of bearing loads and is stable. During daytime hours, especially on sunny slopes, the snowpack forfeits its firmness. In high-alpine zones, small snowdrift accumulations are evident. At lower altitudes there is little snow on the ground.

Quite pleasant. Cirrus clouds passing through, intermittent sunshine. During the daytime, esp. in the Northern Alps, some convective cloud build-up which will spread. At 2000m: +2 degrees. Moderate to brisk northerly winds at high altitudes.

On Friday, much warmer, zero-degree level at 3000m. Danger of wet-snow and glide-snow avalanches will increase.
