Highlights

Currently there are favourable avalanche conditions.

Avalanche Activity

Currently there are favourable avalanche conditions.

As a consequence of new snow and a moderate northerly wind, small wind slabs will form in the course of the day. The small quantity of fresh snow and in particular the small wind slabs will become increasingly prone to triggering.

Snowpack Structure

In general, the surface of the snow cover is brown due to the effect of the Saharan dust. Some fresh snow and isolated wind slabs will be deposited on a crust. On shady slopes above approximately 2000 m there are 10 to 50 cm of snow, and even more in some localities. On steep sunny slopes only a little snow is lying.

Tendency

Wednesday: The danger of dry slab avalanches will increase a little during the day.
