GC 22/3. Isolated shallow windslab forming on N to E to SE aspects above 850m, avoidable. Old snowpack refreezing. Low Hazard.

Forecast Snow Stability: Fresh accumulations of windslab will begin to form in wind sheltered locations on North through East to South-East aspects above 850 metres. These accumulations are expected to be isolated, shallow and easily avoidable, falling onto the existing wet snowpack or bare ground. The older snowpack will begin to refreeze. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Turning wintry overnight with snow showers falling to lower levels as the temperature drops. Snow showers will continue for the remainder of the day with freezing levels around 500 metres. Winds will remain gale to storm force from the West. Observed Weather Influences: A wet and cloudy day with persistent rain at all elevations. Gale to storm force winds from a South-Westerly direction. The freezing level was above the summits throughout. ObservedSnowStability: The remaining snowpack is wet and stable and continues to thaw at all levels in the mild conditions. Accumulations are mainly limited to steep coire rims, head walls, gullies and crag aprons above 850 metres. Remaining cornices continue to slump with collapse being unpredictable. The avalanche hazard is Low.
