Glacier.
Watch for fresh pockets of windslab today if/when the winds pick up.
A system making landfall over the mid coast will push a series of warm fronts inland over the next couple of days. Winds will increase through out the day today, with snowfall beginning late this afternoon.
10cm of settling snow sits on top of surface hoar and a thin crust on steep S aspects. Recent cold temps have facetted the upper snowpack, but have not penetrated into the stiff snow that overlies the Dec 11th surface hoar (5-12mm) which persists down 90-130cm. Several crusts exist in the rounding lower snowpack.
A few small loose snow avalanches were triggered by the sun yesterday.
