Highlights

The avalanche prone locations are rare and are easy to recognise.

Avalanche Activity

The avalanche prone locations are rare and are easy to recognise.

Individual avalanche prone locations are to be found above approximately 2500 m, in particular at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack, when entering gullies and bowls for example. Along the border with France the avalanche prone locations are a little more prevalent. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the icy crust.

Snowpack Structure

In all regions only a little snow is now lying. In particular at low and intermediate altitudes from a snow sport perspective, insufficient snow is lying. At high altitudes and in high Alpine regions snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. The snowpack is largely stable. The rather small wind slabs are lying on weak layers on shady slopes in high Alpine regions. This applies in particular along the border with France. Some snow will fall from the afternoon.
