Forecast Snow Stability: The existing snowpack will be generally firm and stable with some fresh snow accumulations. Unstable windslab will be present in steep, wind sheltered locations on mainly North-West to North-East aspects above 700 metres with coire rims, gully tops and ridge flanks most affected. Cornices will be present in these locations also. During the day fresh deposits of unstable windslab will begin to form on more Easterly and Southerly aspects. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: Wintery showers continue through the period falling as snow above around 600 metres overnight and to progressively lower elevations through the day, around 200 metres. Moderate winds from the South overnight veer to the North and increase through the day becoming fresh to strong. Observed Weather Influences: Brief showers falling as snow above 850 metres this morning becoming drier but remaining cloudy over the summits. Winds were moderate to fresh from the South.
