Forecast Snow Stability: Poorly bonded windslab accumulations will persist and continue to accumulate becoming more extensive in wind sheltered locations. Where these deposits gain depth they will be weakly bonded, the greatest accumulations being on steep North through East to South-East aspects above 850 metres. Gullies, scarp slopes, gully exits and steep coire rims will be particularly affected. Fragile cornices will be present above these similar steep aspects. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: Overnight, the freezing level will rise from around 400 metres to a 1000 metres then fall again during the day to 400 metres. Light, overnight snow showers above 400 metres will merge into more persistent snow falling mainly above 800 metres during the day. Very strong winds throughout the period mainly from a West-South-Westerly direction. Observed Weather Influences: The freezing level rose above the summits last night with some rain at all levels, then the freezing level quickly fell to around 650 metres this morning giving a melt freeze cycle. Some heavy snow fell during the course of the day mainly above 550 metres, accompanied by very strong Westerly winds.

ObservedSnowStability: The old moist snowpack has consolidated. New accumulations of moderately bonded windslab was forming in wind sheltered locations. Areas mostly affected are steep North-East to South-Easterly aspects above 850 metres, particularly sheltered gully exits and steep coire headwalls. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
