Highlights
The General Avalanche Hazard is LOW this morning and will rise to MODERATE by this afternoon. Below freezing temperatures have frozen the snow surface and avalanches are unlikely in the early morning hours today. Increasing temperatures and sunlight will quickly soften and weaken this surface providing for the possibility of wet slide activity on snow covered slopes in avalanche terrrain as well as providing for the chance to trigger deep slab avalanches in steep avalanche paths that are underlain with weak layers of faceted snow.
