The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE above an elevation of 8,500 feet and LOW below this elevation. Recent snow and strong west-southwest to southwest winds have formed soft slabs up to 18 inches in depth on leeward aspects. These slabs could be human triggered in steep terrain, particularly near ridge crests and cliff areas.
