Avalanche Summary
The most dangerous slopes are easterly facing slopes where strong winds have drifted additional load over near-surface facets about 1 to 2 feet deep. Avoid rounded bulbous pillows of snow. The wind-drifted snow is sat on a weak layer, so you could trigger these avalanches from a distance and have wider propagation than you would have with a classic Wind Slab avalanche. If you trigger an avalanche in the surface snow, there is still a possibility of it stepping down to the ground.
You can find safer travel on low-angle slopes or slopes sheltered from the wind at lower elevations.
