Highlights
The General Avalanche Hazard is MODERATE today. A buried layer of surface hoar and old snow surfaces from the January dry spell persist as an active bed surface for slope failure. These layers are problematic as some slopes could fail on approach while others fail after multiple crossings and other similar slopes are stable. Soft slabs to three feet in depth could be triggered today in steep wind loaded avalanche starting zones.
