Highlights
The general avalanche hazard remains MODERATE. Hard slabs one to three feet in depth lie upon a base of rotten, faceted snow. This instability varies throughout the snowpack on all aspects with North facing slopes being the weakest. The hard snow above this layer hides the lurking danger making slides hard to predict. Travellers may make multiple laps on slope before it fails. Saturday three slides were triggered on the north side of Split Rock by snowmobiles passing below the slopes.
