Tetons

At the upper elevations surface slabs one to three in depth persist in cliff areas and in steep wind loaded starting zones. Earlier this week a cornice drop triggered a three foot deep slab on an easterly wind loaded aspect in the Southern Tetons and in the Northern Tetons a cornice drop on a northerly aspect triggered a two foot deep slab which then stepped down to a depth of five feet. Similar events could be triggered today especially on northerly aspects and beneath corniced ridgelines. Wet slides, sunballing and loose snow sluffs are likely today at the mid and upper elevations on steep sunlit aspects as temperatures warm.
