Forecast Weather Influences: It will remain mild with the freezing level above the summits. Rain and drizzle, heaviest around dawn. Strong South-Westerly winds in the evening ease through the period to become light and variable in the afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: Overnight snow was followed by light rain at all elevations today. There were moderate Southerly winds and the freezing level was above the summits. ObservedSnowStability: Isolated wet snow instabilities are present in deeper accumulations of recent snow on all aspects above 700 metres. As the day progressed the snowpack was consolidating and stability improving. Cornices are prone to collapse. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
