New snow and wind slabs: These conditions will foster a gradual rise in the danger of dry avalanches in the afternoon in particular above the tree line.
New snow and wind slabs: These conditions will foster a gradual rise in the danger of dry avalanches in the afternoon in particular above the tree line.
The snowpack will be generally well bonded. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard crust. As a consequence of new snow and wind the prevalence of the avalanche prone locations will increase in the afternoon. In particular very steep slopes as well as adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas: Several mostly small dry avalanches are to be expected.
In some localities 20 to 25 cm of snow will fall. Only a little snow is lying. As a consequence of rising temperatures and solar radiation a crust formed on the surface during the last few days, in particular on sunny slopes, as well as on shady slopes below approximately 2100 m.
Several small to medium-sized natural dry avalanches are possible as a consequence of new snow and strong wind.
