GC 19/3 Light new snowfall, a dusting above 850m on all aspects. Old moist snowpack refreezing getting icy on higher slopes Haz Low.

Forecast Snow Stability: New snow amounts are not expected to be significant, in the main a light dusting mainly above 850 metres. The old wet snowpack will consolidate in the cooler conditions and start to refreeze and remain generally well bonded and stable. Greatest snow amounts will be present mostly on North to Easterly aspects above 850 metres. At higher elevations the snowpack will become firm and icy. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Overnight, the freezing level will fall to around 700 metres with mainly light and patchy rain, a dusting of new snow is possible over the highest summits. Sunday, mainly dry and fine, some patchy snow falling above 900 metres later in the afternoon. The winds will be strong overnight from the West-North-West then easing and backing through the day to become fresh mainly South-Westerly. Observed Weather Influences: After a mainly dry and mild night, today remained mild but it rained non stop at all elevations. Winds were moderate to fresh from a Southerly direction. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack continues to thaw but remains generally well bonded and stable. Some isolated pockets of wet snow instabilities still exist on steeper slopes with a North to East aspect, gully exits and steep coire rims are particularly affected. The greatest snow amounts are still present on North to Easterly aspects above 900 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
