Forecast Snow Stability: There will be a period of reduced stability in recent windslab accumulations, mainly on North to East aspects above 1000 metres, during the warm and wet conditions overnight. During the day the snowpack will consolidate as it becomes colder with fresh accumulations of windslab forming mainly on North-West to North-East aspects above 1000 metres. These are not expected to be extensive. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: The freezing level will rise above the summits overnight before dropping to around 900 metres during the day. Showers, heaviest overnight, falling as rain at all levels, will turn to snow above around 800 metres during the day. Strong to gale force Southerly winds. Observed Weather Influences: Heavy overnight showers, falling as snow above 900 metres became less frequent during the day. South-West gales eased through the day. The freezing level was around 1000 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Areas of fresh unstable windslab are present mainly on North to East aspects above 1000 metres. The older snowpack is generally well bonded and stable. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
