Avalanche danger is low. Isolated danger zones occur on north-facing slopes. On exteremely steep slopes a slab avalanche triggering cannot be ruled out.

Snowpack Structure

As temperatures dropped, the snowpack was able to firm up. Inside the snowpack are hardly any weak layers.

Weather Synopsis

Cold and windy weather will arrive on Friday. Particularly in the Northern Alps, light snowfall is anticipated: 5 -10 cm expected. In the other regions it will remain dry by and large, a bit of sunshine is possible from Turrach to Koralpe. At 2000 m.: -11 degrees; 30-60 m/hr N/NW winds.

Tendency

Cold wintery weather conditions on Saturday. As a result of brisk northerly winds, skies will remain predominantly overcast, in northern and eastern regions a bit of snowfall is possible. No significant change in avalanche danger levels is expected.
