If the snow is supportive then dig down and check the strength of the base of the snowpack. Previous wind stiffened snow over a weak base in shallow rocky terrain is the most likely scenario for skier or climber triggered avalanches at this time.
No new avalanches observed or reported.
Surface hoar up to 10mm continues to grow in cold overnight temperatures. Exposed areas are heavily wind effected at treeline and above. The snowpack is generally between 25-45cm of snow sitting over a faceted base.
