As a consequence of the northwesterly wind the wind slabs have increased in size in the last three days. They can be released in isolated cases above the tree line. On wind-loaded slopes and in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain the situation is more precarious. Weak layers exist in the old snowpack especially on north, northeast and northwest facing slopes. Low and intermediate altitudes as well as sunny slopes: Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise as the day progresses to increasing softening of the snowpack. Some mostly small moist snow slides and avalanches are possible here.
In particular above the tree line snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. The fresh and somewhat older wind slabs can be released in isolated cases and generally at elevated altitudes. Especially shady slopes where weaknesses exist in the old snowpack are unfavourable. Low and intermediate altitudes as well as sunny slopes: Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise as the day progresses to increasing softening of the snowpack.
Above approximately 1800 m snow will fall in some regions.
