Highlights

Avalanche Activity

The fresh and older wind slabs can still be released in particular on north to northeast to northwest facing aspects above the tree line. As a consequence of warming during the day, the likelihood of moist and wet avalanches being released will increase a little in particular on steep sunny slopes at intermediate altitudes.

In particular above the tree line snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. The wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant in some cases and above the tree line. In gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain and on wind-loaded slopes the likelihood of avalanches is higher. Weak layers exist in the snowpack especially on steep shady slopes. Low and intermediate altitudes as well as wind-protected sunny slopes: The snowpack is largely stable and its surface has a crust. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise as the day progresses to increasing moistening of the snowpack in particular on sunny slopes in particular at low and intermediate altitudes.

Snowpack Structure

The wind slabs have settled a little especially on sunny slopes. Large-grained weak layers exist in the old snowpack in particular on north, northeast and northwest facing slopes. Low and intermediate altitudes as well as wind-protected sunny slopes: The snowpack is largely stable and its surface has a crust.
