Snowpack
The snowdrift accumulations of recent days are fairly small, but some are still prone to triggering. Over the past three days, small and in some cases medium-sized avalanches have been released at the transition from this week's new snow and wind slabs to the old snowpack below.
On the central part of the southern flank of the Alps and in southern Upper Engadine, the old snowpack structure has been partially transformed, especially in places with little snow, and fractures deeper in the snowpack are possible in isolated cases. In the other regions, the bottom and middle sections of the snowpack are generally favourable, meaning that avalanches usually only involve the upper layers.
Some medium-sized and occasionally large gliding avalanches are still possible, especially at altitudes between 2000 and 2600 m.

It will be sunny in the mountains, with clouds moving in from the west on Sunday afternoon. The zero-degree level will be around 2200 m in the west and 1800 m in the east. Weak to moderate northwesterly winds will blow at high altitudes.
The danger of dry avalanches will continue to decrease. Some gliding avalanches, mostly of medium size, will still be possible.
