Avalanche Activity

Wind slabs represent the main danger.

Wind slabs have formed in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls and generally at high altitudes. Avalanches are possible in isolated cases as before. In the relevant regions these are mostly small.

Snowpack Structure

The new snow of the last few days is lying on the quite favourable surface of an old snowpack above approximately 1900 m. In the last few days small wind slabs formed in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls as well as at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions. Some fresh snow and the wind slabs will be deposited on a quite favourable old snowpack above approximately 1700 m.
