Chic-Choc Mountains, Chic-Chocs.
With a melt-freeze crust present at the surface, the main hazard in the mountains is the risk of an uncontrolled fall. Choose low-angle terrain during your travels over the next few days.
No new avalanches have been observed or reported.
If you head into the backcountry, thanks for sharing your observations on the Mountain Information Network (MIN).
A widespread melt-freeze crust is present at the surface throughout the mountains.
Below this crust, the snowpack is well consolidated.
