Forecast Snow Stability: Unstable windslab will continue to accumulate on North through East to South aspects above 750m. These instabilities will be present on wind sheltered terrain such as coire rims, ridge crests, convex slopes, gullies and scarp slopes. Cornices will continue to develop and become increasingly fragile. Below 750m localised deep deposits of snow will accumulate on steep banks, and shallow gullies. Wind exposed Westerly aspects will have better stability. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: Winds will be mainly fresh West-North-West for most of the period. Later they will turn more to the North-West and become strong. There will be frequent moderate snow showers throughout the period with heavier showers expected further inland. The freezing level will remain low for most of the period rising to 200 metres later. Observed Weather Influences: It has been a cold day with the low freezing level. Winds were strong North-West. There were some short bright sunny periods in the glen with snow showers and poor visibility on the tops. ObservedSnowStability: There is now snow down to the road side. Localised areas of moderately bonded windslab have continued to build on North through East to South aspects above 650 metres. These windslab instabilities have gained depth and extent, mainly affecting steeper wind sheltered terrain, such as coire rims, ridge flanks, gullies and scarp slopes. Cornices have developed. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
