Avalanche Activity

Wind and new snow to low altitudes.

New snow and wind slabs are to be assessed with care and prudence. As a consequence of new snow and wind more frequent dry avalanches are possible in the afternoon, but they can reach medium size in isolated cases. New snow and wind slabs can to an increasing extent be released by small loads.

Snowpack Structure

As a consequence of sharply falling temperatures a crust formed on the surface during the last few days, especially on sunny slopes, as well as on shady slopes at low and intermediate altitudes. The new snow will become increasingly prone to triggering in particular on steep shady slopes.
