Forecast Snow Stability: Unstable windslab will persist and accumulate further mainly on North to East aspects above 1150 metres. Below this but above 900 metres the older snowpack will be better consolidated but localised accumulations of fresh unstable windslab will develop overnight. Below 900 metres the snowpack will be wet and generally stable. Slopes exposed to the strong South-West winds will be scoured and generally stable. Cornices will be fragile. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: Very strong South-West winds will ease to become light by dawn and then back, becoming North-North-Easterly. Showers overnight falling as snow above around 800 metres followed by a mainly dry day. Freezing level around 900 metres. Observed Weather Influences: Very strong South-South-West winds and showers falling as snow above around 1000 metres. The freezing level was around 1200 metres in the morning, dropping slowly in the afternoon. ObservedSnowStability: On North-West through North to East aspects there is unstable windslab present above around 1150 metres with wet snow instabilities at lower elevations. Windward slopes are scoured and generally stable. Cornices are fragile and prone to collapse. The avalanche hazard is Considerable.
