Forecast Snow Stability: Fresh unstable windslab will be deposited in sheltered areas, mainly on North through East to South aspects above 900 metres. Accumulations are not expected to gain significant depth and in many places will lie on bare ground. The patchy old snowpack will be stable and will refreeze during the period. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Overnight, winds will be mainly strong South-Westerly, then veering Northerly and easing; during the day they will be moderate Northerly or North-Westerly. The freezing level will be around 1200 metres for much of the night, lowering during the early morning to be 500 metres by dawn and will continue to lower to around 100 metres through the day. Overnight, showers will fall as snow above 1100 metres lowering to around 500 metres by dawn and all levels by mid-morning. Mainly dry thereafter. Observed Weather Influences: Winds were strong mainly South-Westerly. Frequent showers fell as snow above around 1200 metres. The freezing level was around 1250 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The patchy old snowpack is wet, well bonded and stable, and its surface is starting to refreeze at the highest levels. Some fresh windslab is being deposited in sheltered areas, mainly on North to East aspects above 1200 metres; accumulations are not significant. The avalanche hazard is Low.
