Forecast Snow Stability: Moderately bonded windslab will continue to develop on North, through East to South aspects above 650 metres. Areas most affected will be wind sheltered locations especially coire rims, gully exits and ridge flanks. The old snowpack will be stable, well bonded and firm. Wind exposed terrain will be scoured. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
Forecast Weather Influences: Overnight strong to gale force South-Westerly winds will gradually veer to become moderate North-Westerly. Freezing level will rise to 600 metres overnight before lowering to 300 metres by the end of the day. Snow showers throughout the period. Observed Weather Influences: Occasional snow showers on a strong Westerly wind. Freezing level around 400 metres. ObservedSnowStability: New accumulations of moderately bonded windslab have developed on North-East to South-East aspects above 700 metres. Due to cross loading North and South aspects are also affected. Old snow is firm, stable and well bonded. Wind scoured areas have a superficial dusting. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
