Forecast Snow Stability: Wet snow instabilities will persist, and localised unstable windslab will develop, on West through North to North-East aspects above 1000 metres. Areas especially affected will be within steep and convex terrain, such as below coire rims, gully exits and crag aprons. Cornices will remain unstable. Elsewhere the snowpack will be be generally well bonded, soft and thawing at lower altitudes. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: Gale force South-South-East winds will gradually ease through the forecast period to become moderate South, then South-Westerly during the afternoon. A mostly dry night followed by light snowfall during the day. The freezing level will fluctuate between summit levels and 1000 metres. Observed Weather Influences: Gale force South-Easterly winds with spells of heavy precipitation falling as sleet and snow above 900 metres. The midday freezing level was at 1000 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Moist unstable windslab accumulations have developed above 1000 metres on Westerly to Northerly aspects. The greatest instability is in steep and convex wind sheltered locations, especially below coire rims gully lines and crag aprons. Cornices are unstable. Elsewhere, apart from some surface instabilities on steep terrain, the snowpack is well bonded and stable. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
