Highlights

Avalanche prone locations are rare.

Avalanche Activity

Avalanche prone locations are rare.

The avalanche risk is low. At high altitudes, persistent weak layers in shady, extremely steep terrain can be problematic. Small slab avalanches with large additional loads can be triggered in persistent weak layers.

Snowpack Structure

The snow surface freezes on a clear night. It gradually softens again on the sunny slopes. On the shady slopes, it usually remains hard, sometimes icy. In shady slopes at higher elevations, faceted crystals have formed near the surface below the surface crust. Otherwise, the snow cover, snowpack is compact and stable. There is little snow. The southern slopes are becoming increasingly snow-free up to high altitudes.

Tendency

The avalanche danger remains unchanged.
