Avalanche Activity

New snow and wind slabs in all aspects. Above approximately 1900 m the wind slabs are larger. Wind slabs are to be evaluated with care and prudence.

As a consequence of new snow and a strong to storm force northeasterly wind, sometimes avalanche prone wind slabs will form in particular in places that are protected from the wind. In all aspects and above approximately 1800 m more medium-sized and, in isolated cases, large slab avalanches are possible. As a consequence of the snowfall more mostly small moist avalanches are possible below approximately 1800 m.

Snowpack Structure

New snow and wind slabs are lying mostly on a moist old snowpack. The wind slabs must be evaluated with care and prudence.
