Forecast Snow Stability: New accumulations of windslab will develop on West to North aspects above 900 metres. The greatest instability will be located in areas such as corrie head walls, gullies and convexities. Cross loading will affect South-West and North-East aspects. Fragile cornices will continue to develop on these same aspects. Below 900 meters windslab is also expected to build in areas such as steep banks, convexities and burn lines. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: Gale force East-South-East winds. Snow showers throughout the forecast period. The freezing level will initially be around 600 meters, lowering to 400 meters by late afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: Moderate South-Easterly winds increased to very strong by mid-day. Heavy snow showers from mid-morning onwards. The freezing level lowered to around 800 meters by late afternoon. ObservedSnowStability: Fresh deposits of unstable windslab developed on West to North aspects above 900 meters from mid-morning onwards. South-West and North-East aspects are also affected due to cross loading. Areas most affected are wind-sheltered locations such as corrie rims and the tops of gullies. Fragile cornices are present above these same aspects. The avalanche hazard is Considerable.
