Forecast Snow Stability: The existing snow will continue to be re-distributed. This will create isolated areas of unstable windslab, in wind sheltered locations, above 800 metres on steep West to Northerly aspects. Corrie rims and gully tops will be most affected, and fragile cornices will develop on these aspects. Existing instabilities on North-East to South-East aspects, above 800 metres will also persist within the recently deposited snowpack. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: It will be cloudy with some patchy light snow throughout the period. Snow amounts are forecast to be minimal. Overnight Gale force East-South-Easterly winds will moderate through the day and veer to Strong Southerlies. Freezing level will rise slowly to around 700 metres by Thursday afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: It was a dry day with no precipitation. The winds were Strong East-South-Easterly with the freezing level around 400 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Unstable windslab persists in steep, wind sheltered locations above 800 metres, on mainly North-East to South-East aspects. Wind re-distribution of existing snow is also creating isolated areas of fresh windslab on West to North aspects, again, mainly above 800 metres in wind sheltered locations. Where scoured, the snow is firm and icy. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
