In some regions 10 to 15 cm of snow, but less in some localities, fell on Thursday. The sometimes storm force wind has transported the new snow significantly. The wind slabs can be released in some cases on steep northeast, southeast and southwest facing slopes above approximately 2200 m. Caution is to be exercised at their margins in particular. They are to be avoided in particular in terrain where there is a danger of falling. Caution is to be exercised in particular in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain, in particular along the border with France.

The new snow of Thursday is lying on top of a weakly bonded old snowpack in particular on steep shady slopes above approximately 2200 m. The snowpack is faceted. The sometimes strong wind has transported the new snow significantly. In particular in high Alpine regions snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. In all regions as well as in all altitude zones only a small amount of snow is lying for the time of year.
