Forecast Snow Stability: Unstable accumulations will be present in steep wind sheltered locations mainly on East to South aspects above 900 metres. Stability poorest where deposits have depth in steep terrain. Elsewhere, deeper drifts will be encountered at lower levels in lee locations. Any area exposed to the strong winds will be scoured with old icy snow. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Overnight light snowfall, easing early morning, dry thereafter. Freezing level expected to be 400 metres during the day. Overnight very strong winds will ease becoming a fresh breeze, initially North-North-West backing to the West-North-West by the end of day. Observed Weather Influences: Snow showers to the glens during the morning. Dry afternoon. Freezing level was around -6 at 900 metres all day. Very strong North-North-West winds. ObservedSnowStability: Dry unconsolidated deposits mainly on South-East and South aspects above 900 metres. Very wind sheltered features such as scarp slopes and high coire rims are most affected. These areas are isolated in distribution and mostly avoidable. Elsewhere is mainly scoured with thin snow cover. Older snow is very firm with icy. The avalanche hazard is Low.
