Highlights

Avalanches that may occur will be within any new snow that we receive from the weak front passing through. Westerly wind will allow for wind blowing snow near and above treeline. Despite meager snow totals, watch for wind blowing snow and wind loading on easterly aspects.

A few inches of new snow and strong westerly wind is on tap for today. Even though snow amounts are not much, watch for wind blowing snow and fresh wind slabs. These slabs are likely to be small to medium in size. Existing snow surfaces are variable. Wind slabs may not bond well to some icy, smooth surfaces.
