Older, firm wind slabs may be stubborn but may still avalanche. You can trigger these on open, exposed slopes. Very large, deep slabs have become unlikely, but not impossible. Seek out sheltered, well-supported terrain and minimize your exposure to large open slopes where avalanches can start.
