Wednesday's upslope storm deposited up to 70 cm of dry snow on the Eastern slopes of Waterton Park. Pockets of reactive windslab exist in the Alpine and at tree line. This new windslab overlies a variety of bed surface including bare ground, old windslab and a thick melt freeze crust where snow from the late September snowfall did not melt out.
Natural Loose Dry avalanches up to size 1.5 occurred in the front ranges during the previous storm cycle. No new avalanches observed in the past 24 h.
