During my fieldwork on Monday, I did not find the new snow very sensitive. I did not see any avalanche activity. I didn't experience any cracking or collapsing. The stability tests I performed on the upper layers of the snowpack had good results. Things look good to me. That said, don't let your guard down. Watch for any cracking of the snow surface. Avoid steep terrain with thick drifts of wind blown snow. If you're not pushing it into the most radical upper elevation terrain, you''ll have a safe powder day today.
