The avalanche danger on the Manti Skyline is MODERATE.
Overall, things are pretty quiet on the mountains but there are a few booby traps scattered around.
Recently formed drifts and wind slabs should still be avoided.
Wind slabs and drifts that formed last week are more stubborn now but still have the potential to crack out if disturbed. The good news is that most of these are shallow and don't pose much of a threat if you trigger one. The photo below is an example of a shallow wind slab that may have been snowmobile triggered. These are most pronounced in the higher terrain on east facing slopes right along ridges.

The bad news is there are still a number of places where one of these fresh drifts will break deeper into buried weak sugary faceted snow. The photo below is a pocket that broke deeper. This was most likely snowmobile triggered within the last week. East northeast facing, 10,100'. There are still places you could trigger something similar today. West, north and especially east facing steep slopes in the mid and upper elevations with a recent drift or slab on them are suspect.

Current Conditions: Wednesday was a real nice day in the mountains with sunny skies, temperatures into the 30s, and light northwest wind. I can't say much about the riding conditions but it was nice to be in the mountains. Overnight temperatures dropped into the low 20s and teens and wind from the northwest increased slightly over the highest peaks.
Mountain Weather: It'll be another nice day today with sun and temperatures again into the 30s. Wind will be light to moderate in speed from the west northwest. Friday looks similar. It looks like it will cloud up for the weekend and we may see some snow. A storm system is going to push some moisture into Utah but it looks like the majority will stay north of us. Temperatures will be warm with this system.
