Wind Slab reactivity from this week has been trending toward unlikely, allowing us to drop the danger rating. However, there could still be a lingering pocket of wind slab out there if you find yourself in complex or extreme terrain.
Many of the reported wind slabs this week have been hard slabs, which are harder to assess, manage, and trigger. If you find firm, hollow-feeling snow, it may be best to avoid it and find a different route.

A natural wind slab avalanche on Mount St. Helens this week. This one is on a relatively small slope and just touches the uphill travel route.
