Weak faceted snow persist within the snowpack and continues to be a concern on steep slopes. Some potential may remain for humans to trigger persistent slab avalanches up to three feet deep in steep avalanche prone terrain. Avalanches are unlikely below an elevation of 7,500 feet.

A trace to an inch of new light density snow could fall at the higher elevations by morning. The moisture in this flow will increase in the afternoon. Skies are expected to be overcast on Thursday with light snow developing and becoming more widespread. Accumulations on an inch are likely by sunset. Temperatures will be in the single digits in the morning and rise into the upper teens and 20s in the afternoon. Winds along the highest ridge lines will be westerly at 15 to 20 miles per hour.At the upper elevations humans who venture into steep avalanche starting zones with fresh deposits of wind-blown snow could trigger pockets of shallow wind slab up to 18 inches in depth. In the Continental Divide/Togwotee Pass and the Southwest Trails/Greys River areas the potential for humans to trigger persistent slabs up to three feet deep may persist and therefore the general avalanche hazard is expected to be MODERATE. The general avalanche hazard in the Teton area is expected to be LOW. Low hazard does not mean there will be no hazard.
