Avalanche Summary

An Avalanche Warning remains in effect through Friday. The biggest storm of the season brings one last pulse of snow to the Southern Mountains, accompanied by strong winds. Feet of snow is now stacked above an unusually shallow and very weak snowpack. You can easily trigger large and dangerous avalanches on most steep slopes. On west through north to east-facing slopes, avalanches will be large enough to bury or kill you. Travel in or below avalanche terrain is not recommended.
