At the upper elevations surface slabs up to two feet in depth persist in steep wind loaded avalanche starting zones. These slabs lie upon hard old snow surfaces and could be human triggered on very steep slopes and in cliff areas. The potential for these slabs to be triggered and for wet slides to occur will increase as temperatures warm and snow surfaces soften. Mostly bare ground exist at the lower elevations.

Skies will be partly cloudy under a high pressure ridge. Temperatures will rise into the 40's in the mountains and to near 60 degrees in the valleys. Ridge crest winds will be northerly at 5 to 10 miles per hour.The general avalanche hazard in all areas is expected to be MODERATE in the morning and increase to CONSIDERABLE as temperatures warm and snow surfaces soften. The potential to trigger these slabs and the potential for wet slides to occur spontaneously will increase as temperatures warm and snow surfaces soften.
