Highlights
The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE today. New snow has been accompanied by strong winds and has formed surface slabs to two feet in depth in the mountains on leeward slopes. These slabs will be easily triggered by backcountry users today. Once triggered these slabs may pull out deeper layers of snow down to a persistent weak layer near the base of the snowpack.
