Avalanche Summary

Most slopes are safe from avalanches due to the lack of snow. If you are traveling in high-elevation, north- or northeast-facing areas, you may be able to trigger small avalanches in very few spots where the wind drifted recent snow over older, weaker snow. These avalanches will be small and relatively harmless, but could drag you through rocks. Cracking in the surface snow or audible collapsing are signs that there is enough snow for an avalanche.
